Temperatures are rising, the sun is shining, and our team have visited some sizzling summer venues where you can make the most of every morsel of good weather this fine country has to offer – before it’s all gone!  So strike up the BBQ and check out these amazing rooftop bars in London…

Aviary at The Montcalm Royal

We visited this property last week and were captivated by their stunning south-facing terrace that puts the City at your feet.  Poised above Finsbury Square, Aviary is a rooftop restaurant and bar which serves modern dishes prepared with flair. Smart, mid-century styling gives this expansive space an air of retro glamour, and light floods in through floor to ceiling windows. They also offer private hire balconies for corporate events.

Radio Rooftop Bar at ME Melia

Located on the 10th floor of the ME in London, this funky rooftop bar is popular with corporate event planners keen to impress their delegates with the stunning, panoramic views that take in some of London’s most iconic landmarks. At a recent client event, this venue’s creative cocktails made quite an impression, as did the “Tapas con Vistas” menu, which offers a modern take on Spanish delicacies. The venue’s Cabanas and Main Reception (which is stunning) are also available for exclusive hire, and there are some exceptional suites with their own private balconies if you require accommodation.

Rooftop Terrace, The Golden Bee

Unveiled earlier this month, this new Rooftop Terrace is situated at the top of the building with fantastic views of the surrounding Shoreditch area. The rooftop has its own bar serving up seasonal as well as classic cocktails.  Complete with a retractable canopy and heaters, this is an outdoor space that can be enjoyed come rain or shine.

SkyLounge at Doubletree by Hilton, Tower of London

A great spot to unwind with views of Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Gherkin. SkyLounge is equipped with both summer BBQs and winter heaters, making it a viable option much of the year round. With excellent service, clean décor and located close to Tower Hill, it was clearly designed with business clientele in mind – ideal if you are looking for a venue with a smart, corporate feel.

The Roof Terrace at Ham Yard Hotel

A lush, green and lively terrace which sets itself apart from the typical corporate event venues in London. Located within a garden which is also home to ancient olive trees, fruit trees and two buzzing bee hives.  Raised beds made of railway sleepers and picket fencing form salad, herb and vegetable gardens, the produce of which is served in the restaurant’s daily specials. Unfortunately, the venue can only be hired until 9pm, as it is in a residential area. Baring this minor exception, this venue has a lot to offer any event planner looking for an unusual and memorable setting.

Bokan, Canary Wharf

The stylish new Bokan claims to have the highest rooftop bar in London perching on its 39th floor. This easy-going, informal space features a specialist gin bar, rooftop daybeds and Sunday jazz sessions. If the weather doesn’t quite deliver, Bokan’s 37thand 38th floors include floor to ceiling windows with exceptional views that won’t put your delegates at the mercy of the elements.
