New and upcoming UK venues for 2020

From the small and quirky to large arenas, lots of venues opened across the UK last year, with many more set to open in 2020. Here are a small selection of venues and spaces to check out…



London


Magazine London

Magazine, a 24,000sqm purpose-built event space, opened in September 2019 on the Greenwich Peninsula. Its steel warehouse architecture offers a striking blank canvas for creative events, with views of the River Thames and Canary Wharf. Magazine’s 3,205sqm interior space can cater for 3,000 people inside, with a further 7,000 guests outside.


Evolution London

Evolution, based in Battersea Park, has recently expanded and become a permanent structure with availability throughout the year. Its purpose-built 5,500sqm space offers a capacity for 2,000 for formal dinners, to 5,000 in an exhibition format. Evolution is 8m high with floor-to-ceiling windows, making it a versatile and stunning venue.


Dock X London

Overlooking the Surrey Quays and in the heart of Canada Water, Venue Lab’s Dock X London opened in 2019. The 3,000sqm of warehouse accommodates up to 1,500 guests, and the flexible and high-ceilinged space lends itself to many event types from award dinners to car launches.


Battersea Power Station

The iconic, Grade II-listed building, along with its surroundings, is currently being regenerated, with completion expected later this year. The art-deco building will feature many event spaces, from The Venue – a 4,600sqm space suitable for live music, dinners and conferences for up to 1,500 guests, to the Chimney Lift – a 109m glass elevator which takes up to 40 guests up to a breathtaking, panoramic viewing platform.


10 Union St.

Set to open later this year, 10 Union St. is a purpose built, newly refurbished events venue, just a stone’s throw from London Bridge. The venue has 13 unique spaces set across three floors, with natural light and state-of-the-art AV. The largest room caters for up to 400 delegates, and with interconnecting spaces and moveable walls, the spaces offer flexibility.

The Eastside Rooms

Opening in Spring 2020, Eastside Rooms is a new conference and events venue based within Birmingham’s “knowledge quarter” among the city’s universities. It will house the city’s largest pillar-free banqueting room which can accommodate up to 1,200 delegates, as well as lots of other events spaces and ‘breakout’ rooms.


P&J Live

P&J Live opened mid-2019 as a state-of-the-art concert, exhibition, conference and banqueting venue in Aberdeen. The 48,000sqm venue is versatile and easy to navigate, and boasts a 9,000sqm multi-purpose arena with a 10,000 seated capacity (15,000 standing), banquet space suitable for up to 2,790, seven conference spaces with a 5,000 capacity, and more besides!


ICC Wales

The International Convention Centre Wales opened in Newport in mid-2019 as the first of its kind in Wales. The venue provides a 26,000sqm total floor space which can accommodate up to 5,000 delegates at a time. The venue also boasts a 1,500-seat auditorium and a 2,5000sqm outdoor plaza.
